Congratulations to Phil
Last night MHYC held it's Annual Prize Giving. Phil was awarded the R.B. Cooper Perpetual Award for Voluntary Service. The Enscription on the award reads " Whose outstanding voluntary service is deemed to have contributed most to the affairs and wellbeing of the club".
Phil under the leadership of the late John Hurley reached the level of NRO (National Race Officer). Over the last 12 months he has started the second line of the Sydney to Hobart, Sydney to Southport, Adams 10m Championships and Course Area E of the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta. Phil can be found most Saturdays out on the Harbour starting the MHYC fleet aboard the Hugh S George.
Phil has been a member of the club for over 32 years both racing and as a volunteer. This award is seen as recognition for his time and contribution to the club over the years.
