Season 2011- 2012 is almost here!
During the upcoming weeks now that Boat Show season is over Phil will be heading North. If you would like to have a closer look at the DeckHardware range of products whilst Phil is in Queensland contact phil@deckhardware.com.au.

DeckHardware has been appointed sole distributor in Australia of Allen Products earlier in the year.
All sales, marketing and warranty issues are being directed through our office. We have already commenced our print and online media advertising. With positive feedback from outlets already advising us of higher enquiry rates for the Allen range of product.

This coming season we will be sponsoring both the Heron and Cherub Classes at their National Championships.
We recently had a Heron on our Sydney International Boat Show stand which was a huge success. Who knew so many people had sailed Herons! We certainly will be having a boat on the stand next year. We also had several Heron Sailors assist us on our stand which was a huge help and we could not of done it without them. As the Heron States and Nationals are within driving distance Melissa will be there to support these events in person.

The Walder Boom-Brake has been in use for over 30 years.
With an efficient design based on simplicity and common sense the Walder Boom-Brake controls the boom when accidently gybing.
The Boom-Brake has long been perceived to be necessary for circumnavigators on the open ocean. These days when it’s unthinkable to start your car without buckling up your seatbelt or to purchase a car without an airbag, we still think that getting knocked senseless by the boom is just unavoidable fate. Who has not experienced the boom sweeping the deck in an untimely and brutal manner during gybing [whether deliberately or not] with consequences ranging from expensive – broken boom or mast – to catastrophic – a crew member injured or thrown overboard. This can happen anywhere, not just on the open ocean.
Spinnaker Pole Ends
- Keep Clean by flushing with fresh water
- Do not lubricate as this will build up salt
- soaking in white vinegar will dissolve build up of salt.
Through Hull Fittings
- Leave closed when not in use to avoid unwanted growth which can make it hard to close when in use.
- When your boat is slipped look at the curve of your hull as the fitting will only be flush in one orientation. Work this out and then note the direction of the T-handle (Flowtech Valve) and duplicate that when you close the through hull. Otherwise you end up with a protrusion, which is slow.
- Service your through hull when your boat is slipped. Clean the plunger (Flowtech Valve) and the inside wall of the through hull and then lube with a silicon grease.
