PROtect Chafe
PROtect Chafe is a pressure sensitive tape using extremely high molecular weight polyethylene film with an aggressive acrylic adhesive.
The result is a very tough material, with the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic presently made.
It has extremely low moisture absorption, has a very low coefficient of friction, is self-lubricating and is highly resistant to abrasion (15 times more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel).
Typical Applications:
- dragging lines over the deck
- mooring ropes
- mast and spreaders
- under the boom to protect it from spinnaker a/gennaker sheet
- pads on the deck for blocks and hardware
- daggerboards
- stanchions
- sails
