Why 16's Summer 2019/2020?

As the Spring Season approaches us here at DeckHardware we start to look forward to all the events of the Summer.

This Season we are once again supporting the Aussie Skiffs 13 & 16 Footers. It will also be a BIG Summer of Sailing for the Australian Sailing Squad and Team with a few of their Worlds coming to Australia.

Why The Aussie Skiffs? I guess we have always had a close connection to a number of Skiff Sailors. My Adams 10m Animus had a crew full of 12, 14 or 16 Sailors.

Last Season we started to see a trend among our Ambassadors, many who have been a part of DeckHardware for a decade have found their way to sailing 16's.

It hasn't mattered whether they come from Lake Illawarra, Sydney,  Lake Macquarie or even further North, nor has it mattered what classes they have come from. Some of our Ambassadors that are now sailing 16's we started supporting when they were sailing 420's, 470's, 29ers, 49ers, Lasers, Finns and Multihulls.

For us, we are just proud to see them continuing their sailing and doing so because they love it. It is always interesting to see the path sailors take as they get older and progress.

Whilst a number of our Ambassadors are sailing Aussie Skiffs there are also those in many other areas of our sport and we will enjoy highlighting those over the Summer.
